Farai Chirongoma is a National Project Officer, Zimbabwe and supports the effective implementation of the Young Key Populations or ‘Linking Policy and Programming Project’. An Occupational and Public Health professional with expertise in the areas of programme conceptualisation, design, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation, His experience spans across human rights, Health Equity advocacy, access to Health Services for Key Population, Research, Mental Health, and Media Relations along with new Media Technologies.
He has strong team skills having worked multi-disciplinary teams including key populations constituency members, government departments, professionals, young people, community leaders and the private sector.Additional experience includes coordinating psychosocial support for adolescents and young people living with HIV in Zimbabwe. He has led advocacy programs aimed at facilitating access to youth friendly and quality sexual reproductive health services especially for young people
In addition, Farai has cross-continent experience having contributed towards conceptualisation, design and implementation of community based programs in countries in South America. These involved training and capacity building of opinion leaders and champions who can be used as allies in legislative reform advocacy for quality sexual reproductive health services for key populations.
