Berry Didier Nibogora

Berry oversees AMSHeR’s Law and Human Rights Advocacy portfolio supports human rights organisations undertake evidence based advocacy that speaks to the lived realities of MSM/LGBT persons in Africa and to design context specific responses to address these issues, while engaging with Regional and International Human Rights mechanisms on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity and the protection of the rights of LGBT persons in Africa.

A Human Rights Lawyer with 10 years’ experience of advocating for the universal respect of  Human Rights on the African continent, Berry has worked with human rights advocacy and training, conflict transformation and mediation with refugees, IDPs and the youth in Burundi, Rwanda and DRC. He holds an LLB in Law from University of Burundi and a Masters degree (LL.M) in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa from the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights.
