Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA – The African Men for Sexual Health and Rights (AMSHeR) announces the appointment of new staff who are joining AMSHeR to support the implementation of its strategic plan.

The new appointees are listed below: –

Jean Eric Nkurikiye, Member Capacity Strengthening Manager – A Professional human rights researcher and campaigner with more than 10 years’ experience of human rights research and advocacy, Jean Eric will lead and support the effective implementation of its Strategic Objective 3: Strengthened capacity of AMSHeR (Secretariat and membership) for sustainability in governance, advocacy and service delivery.

Juliet Mphande, Communications and Media Advocacy Manager – A Communications professional with over 10 years’ experience of communication with profits and not-for-profits, Juliet will support the effective execution of AMSHeR’s strategic objectives and implement AMSHeR’s communications and media advocacy strategy and put in place effective mechanisms to disseminate and promote AMSHeR’s strategy and regional priorities.

Olusegun Odumosu, HIV and Health Systems Advocacy Manager – A Medical Doctor with over 6 years’ experience of working with key populations on a wide array of programmatic areas that cuts across advocacy for policy implementation and change, Dr Olusegun will lead and support the implementation of AMSHeR’s programmes that address HIV, health systems and key population community participation in national and regional health policy development and implementation processes across Africa.

Shemiah Nyaude, Knowledge Management, Research and Learning Manager – A development practitioner with over 10 years’ experience and technical experience of implementation, monitoring and evaluation of internationally funded program assignments. A full member of the American Evaluation Association, Shemiah will lead and manage the development and implementation of AMSHeR’s knowledge management, research and monitoring and evaluation strategies.

AMSHeR also informs its stakeholders that Mr. Kene C. Esom, the Executive Director of AMSHeR, is currently away from office on a much-needed leave and will resume his duties on May 1st, 2017 –  in the interim, Mr. Berry D. Nibogora has assumed the role of Acting Executive Director and will work with the AMSHeR Board of Directors to coordinate the secretariat until Mr. Esom resumes his duties on May 1st, 2017.
