AMSHeR joins UNAIDS, GF, GNP+ and other as part of the End AIDS Coalition [EAC].

The African Men for Sexual Health and Rights [AMSHeR]  is proud to join UNAIDS, GF, GNP+ and other as part of the End AIDS Coalition.

The End AIDS Coalition [EAC] was launched at the end of the International AIDS Conference on HIV Science, leaders in the global AIDS response and Kenneth Cole, American fashion designer, amfAR Chairman of the board and UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador as a collaboration of leading AIDS experts, scientists, clinicians, policy-makers, faith leaders, businesses, activists and humanitarians working together to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

Building on the work of partners, the EAC will:

  1. Focus the global AIDS response – linking research, resources and implementation – around one goal; to end the epidemic by 2030;
  2. Encourage the aggregation and analysis of data from the global AIDS response to identify barriers and encourage efficiencies, with a focus on specific populations and locations at risk (micro-epidemics);
  3. Inspire a movement to mobilise and engage the energy and creativity of the next generation, a critical step in achieving success over the next three to five years.

‘Community Mobilisation is the engine that will drive our success in ending the epidemic by 2030. In the micro epidemics, the work must be done on the ground, person to person. AMSHeR looks forward to working alongside the EAC in the shared commitment to fuel that Community engine,’ said Kene Esom, AMSHeR Executive Director.
