AMSHeR Hosts its Biennial Partnership Forum and Appreciation Dinner

As part of its long tradition of honouring its partners, the African Men for Sexual Health and Rights [AMSHeR] hosted its second Biennial Partnership Forum and Appreciation Dinner at the 54 on Bath Hotel in Johannesburg, RSA on August 26, 2017.

Since 2015, the African Men for Sexual Health and Rights [AMSHeR] has hosted Partnership Forums and Appreciation Evenings to appreciate individuals and organisations that have and are committed to working for the advancement of human rights particularly on sexual orientation and gender identity and Expression issues [SOGIE].

The Partnership Forum and Appreciation Dinner met the following objectives:

  1. Introduce the full AMSHeR Board and Secretariat to key funders and partners
  2. Launch AMSHeR’s External Evaluation Report
  3. Appreciate and Honour Former Board Members, Funders and Individuals for their unwavering commitment and support to the advancement of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender [LGBT] Human Rights work across the continent
  4. Reiterate the message of a strong and united AMSHeR beyond the Executive Transition

The event was attended by 40 people that included AMSHeR’s Board and Staff, key funders like The Ford Foundation and the Southern African AIDS Trust [SAT] and partner organisations like the Coalition of African Lesbians [CAL], The Other Foundation and the Institute for Strategic Litigation in Africa [ISLA].
