Call for contributions to the draft study on “HIV, the Law and Human Rights in the African Human Rights System: Key Challenges and Opportunities for Rights-based Responses to HIV”.

The Secretariat of the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights informs the general public that in accordance with Resolution 290 on the need to conduct a Study on HIV, the Law and Human Rights, the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and those at Risk, Vulnerable to and affected by HIV (The Committee on HIV) has developed draft study on the topic “HIV, the Law and Human Rights in the African Human Rights System: Key Challenges and Opportunities for Rights-based Responses to HIV”.

This draft is the result of the organisation of several consultations with various stakeholders, particularly in Zimbabwe and South Africa. The draft copy under reference will be presented for consideration at the 60th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. The Committee on HIV would like to invite all stakeholders who wish to contribute to this project to forward their inputs on the following email addresses: au-banjul@africa-union.org and bagonaa@africa-union.org by latest 15 January 2017.
